Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC) aims to advance the leadership potential of Qatar by seeking out Qataris with proven talent and developing their leadership potential to the maximum. QLC will reach this goal by cultivating high-calibre leaders across schools, universities and the workplace (both in the private and public sectors) while also creating overall change in Qatar's leadership environment.
The organisation was inspired in 2008 by an Amiri Decree and in 2010 the QLC Board was formed under the Chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar.
In line with Qatar National Vision 2030, QLC will help advance and nurture Qatar's leadership talent pool, assisting future leaders to reach their full potential and by so doing also support the country's future as an invaluable member of the international community. For the people of Qatar, QLC offers a channel to reach the heights which they and others believe they are capable of. By directing investment of resources, QLC champions best leadership development practices from around the world, enabling high-achievers to succeed as leaders for the benefit of Qatar as a whole.
QLC's first programme (the Current and Future Leaders Programme for ages 25 to 35) launched in November 2011. But in 2012 and onward, further Current and Future Leaders Programmes for other age groups along with the Young Leaders, and Promising Leaders Programmes for high school and university students, as well as other institutional development programmes, will be launched in phases.
